BlueBag: an initiative to return to the sea what it gives to us

Blue bag is an initiave thought to engage everyone and help in saving the sea from waste.

Blue bag is a project created by Ponikve and Ponikve Eko Island Krk, in collaboration with Croatian municipalities to involve people, fisher men, tourists, sailors, inhabitants in the cleaning of the Mediterranean Sea.

To participate basically you just need to dedicate 5 minutes of your time to gather waste in the beaches, especially those less accessible, and return the blue bag in a dumpster.

The goal is to collect as much garbage as possible, avoiding waste of resources to organize clean-ups and missions.

Plastics, cans, ropes, nets, jars, shoes, clothes, wooden objects can be collected, but not branches, leaves and other remains of flora and fauna.

The Blue Bag Challenge includes a photo competition, since every "waste collector" is asked to publish a picture on the Blue Bag website or share it on social media, with the #bluebag tag.

Check the pictures in competition and actions on the BlueBag website.
